The ninth edition of ZagrebDox started last night at the Cineplexx Centar Kaptol cinema with the premiere screening of the film ‘Gangster te voli’ by Nebojša Slijepčević.
Visitors filled all five cinema halls, and the opening ceremony was initiated by the director of ZagrebDox, Nenad Puhovski, who addressed the attendees.
– There is a number of young people who come to the festival, a special award is the fact that this is a festival where young people will pack their bags, come, invest their time and money, and volunteer to ensure everything is successfully realized. All of this is clear evidence that such a festival is needed. The ZagrebDox program includes films that talk about credit ratings – which is particularly interesting to us at this moment; then films about the Croatian plutocracy or women who returned to Croatia after emigration caused by war, as well as regional and global themes important in the region, which corresponds with the political moment and contributes to social change. A special award and proof that everything we do makes sense are the reactions of visitors who leave the cinema halls after screenings and discuss the topics covered in the films they have seen – said Nenad Puhovski.
ZagrebDox lasts until March 3rd, includes over 180 international and domestic documentaries, and screenings are held daily from 12 PM to 11 PM in all five cinema halls at the Cineplexx in Centar Kaptol.
