Although there is no new information that Dragutin Drk and Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank have approached Vindija’s acquisition of Puris, it may still mean something that Puris is buying turkey meat from Vindija’s Vindon and processing it in its facilities.
Indeed, Puris also sources it from other foreign suppliers, but the previous cooperation could, if nothing else, indicate that Drk is indeed stuck. That the negotiations between Vindija and Hypo have truly entered at least a very serious phase, if not a final one, is confirmed by the fact that the bankruptcy administrator of Puris, Zdravko Čupković, has absolutely no information about them.
– I have tried several times to contact Hypo just to know if there is a direction in which the company will go, but I have not received any response – he says.
All 19 turkey farms are not operational, but this processing has preserved 170 jobs, and the products are distributed to schools, kindergartens, and similar institutions.
