Total revenues of Metronet telecommunications in 2012 increased by 6.5 percent, from 197.4 to 210.2 million kuna.
Revenue from business customers in 2012 amounted to 168 million kuna, which is 7 percent higher compared to 157.5 million in 2011. Additionally, there was a recorded growth in operating profit (EBITDA) of 2 percent from 74.4 million in 2011 to 75.6 million in 2012.
– For the first time since its inception, the net loss has been converted into profit. Namely, the minus of 33.2 million kuna from 2011 was converted into a profit of 13.3 million kuna in 2012 – stated the company’s announcement. At the end of 2012, Metronet achieved a market share of 10.2 percent in the segment of fixed telecommunications services for business customers with a 20 percent increase in the number of business customers.
– In a year that was exceptionally difficult for all economic entities, especially in the telecommunications segment, which has been quite visible lately, we are extremely proud of what we have achieved in the past year. We are particularly pleased with the further growth in the number of users and revenues in the business customer segment. The growth in EBITDA does not fully follow the growth in revenues due to increased costs arising from a significant increase in the number of employees in sales. We believe that the decision to further strengthen our sales force will prove to be correct and that in 2013 and the following years it will provide an additional impulse for the company’s growth – said Željko Lukač, CEO.
