The Adria Hotel Forum will be held at the Westin Hotel on February 13 and 14. The main theme of the Forum is hospitality as a driver of investment.
Marina Franolić, the director of the Forum, stated that the main intention of the organizers of this hospitality conference is to discuss how the market has changed in recent years and where, how, and why to invest. The Forum will address destination hospitality, green hospitality, and financing opportunities in hospitality. The Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation Varaždinske Toplice, Golf Park Dubrovnik, and the Oršić Palace in Varaždin will present their investment projects. Foreign experts will also participate in the Forum, including Ulrich Widmer, Vice President of Development for Central Europe at Hilton Worldwide, Allan Ageholm, Director of Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers, and Peter Vermeer, Vice President of the InterContinental hotel group for Belgium.
Kristian Šustar, President of the Association of Employers in Hospitality of Croatia, emphasized that the Association of Hoteliers supports such events due to the importance of discussing investments.
– Joining the EU will give Croatia a critical mass of visibility in European and global markets. – said Šustar. He also emphasized that the tourism development strategy until 2020 is ambitious but achievable.
– In Croatia, we have about ninety hotels that have been out of use since the war. By bringing these hotels back into use, we increase room capacity in Croatia by 15 percent – stated Šustar.
