Pelješac Bridge and/or prison is a good model for Public-Private Partnership (PPP), said Damir Juričić, director of the Public-Private Partnership Agency (AJPP), on Tuesday.
The round table titled ‘Controversies and Unveiling of PPP’ was held more with the intention of informing the media than presenting successful projects. As for them, there are currently 13 completed, and the only unsuccessful one is the Sports and Business Center Lora, i.e., Spaladium Arena. Juričić stated that private partners are also to blame for failing to finalize the financial structure for the entire project. The total value of the current PPP is 150 million euros, involving eight schools, the Bus Station in Osijek, and a hall in Križevci.
In total, it costs 60 million kuna from the budget annually, and the contract is for 25 years, which brings the total cost to 1.5 billion. On the other hand, the savings amount to 4.5 million kuna each year. Dalia Budriene from the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency also participated in the round table. In that Baltic country, 40 projects have been contracted to date, with a total value of 530 million kuna. There, schools and sports halls are mostly being built.
