International Conference on Export as a Driver of Development

The International Conference Export – Driver of Development: The Trade Fair Industry in the Function of Export Growth and Business Internationalization will be held on March 22 in Zagreb.

The aim of the conference is to strengthen the export potential and growth of domestic companies and crafts, particularly through entering foreign markets and enhancing exports, which is especially significant at a time when the domestic market is limited in size and affected by a severe economic crisis.

The conference will provide information on new opportunities and successful models for entering foreign markets, state and EU support, financing options for export programs, and international fairs as marketing and networking platforms for successful entry into new markets.

Before the start of the Conference, on March 21, a meeting of the Executive Board of the CEFA association (CEFA Steering Group) will also be held, so more than 20 members of this important trade fair association of Central European fairs are expected to attend the international conference.

The Vice President of the Zagreb Initiative, Prof. Dr. Mladen Vedriš, will inform the participants about the need and significance of exports as an important component of growth and development of the modern economy, and one of the main speakers will be Dr. Nina Schniering, Director of Strategic Development at Messe München.

About 200 participants are expected at the conference; representatives of export-oriented companies and crafts, economic associations, and relevant state institutions from Croatia and neighboring countries, as well as representatives of leading trade fair organizations from Croatia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Romania, and Bulgaria.

Lider and its Exporters Club are the media sponsors and partners of the international conference organized by the B2B magazine – Suvremena trgovina and the consulting-lobbying company CBBS.
Partners in the organization are trade fair associations from Central and Southeastern Europe: CEFA – Central European Fair Alliance from Vienna and CENTREX – International Exhibition Statistics Union from Budapest, while co-organizers include the think tank Zagreb Initiative, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and AHK (German-Croatian Chamber of Industry and Commerce) from Zagreb.
