21st Century ‘Temporarily Ceases Publication’

The company Miran dan d.o.o., publisher of the daily newspaper 21st Century, has made the decision to temporarily suspend publication.

-“We regret to announce that we have been forced to temporarily suspend the publication of the daily newspaper 21st Century. We are compelled to make such a decision due to the inexplicable behavior of the printing house Vjesnik  which has increased the initially agreed printing price without explanation and justified reasons by more than three times. Under such conditions, the project cannot be profitable and sustainable, and unfortunately, the only possible and responsible decision is to temporarily suspend the publication of the daily newspaper,” stated the owner and director of the project, Marjan Jurleka.

The daily newspaper 21st Century has found its position in the market and a path to readers in less than two months of publication, demonstrating that there is indeed room for new daily newspapers in the market regarding the audience. The average daily sales in the last month amounted to 15,000 copies, and on certain days, it surpassed the sales at kiosks of competing editions that have been in the market for many years. The daily newspaper 21st Century currently holds 7% of the total sold circulation of daily newspapers at kiosks, they stated in a press release.
