The Tax Administration, by introducing fiscalization on January 1, 2013, has begun combating the gray economy, tax evasion, and establishing order in cash transactions in Croatia, and for this purpose, they announce the campaign ‘No Receipt, No Count’.
-Considering that due to the non-issuance of receipts or reprinting already issued receipts, damages to the state budget reach as much as one billion kuna, the Ministry of Finance expects active citizen involvement in combating the gray economy. Because it puts those who work honestly at a disadvantage compared to those who put money in their pockets instead of the state budget. It is not fair that some pay all their obligations to the state, while others cheat and actually live at the expense of the honest and hardworking, the Ministry states.
Therefore, the Tax Administration is launching a national television and radio campaign, as well as a contest with the same slogan ‘No Receipt, No Count’. The campaign will last the entire calendar year of 2013. The main goal of the campaign is to raise awareness among the citizens of the Republic of Croatia about the importance of taking receipts with every payment, as this is the only guarantee that your honestly earned money will end up in the budget, the Tax Administration notes.
On Saturday, February 9, 2013, Croatian Radiotelevision will begin broadcasting an informative-educational spot from the Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration, free of charge. To encourage citizens to take receipts, starting from February 9, 2013, the contest ‘No Receipt, No Count’ will commence, in which all who collect 20 fiscal receipts issued from February 1, 2013, will compete for three prizes in four rounds. The organizer of the contest is the Croatian Lottery, under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration.
