The leading Swedish travel agency chain Resia has declared Croatia a hit destination this summer and one of the most popular holiday destinations in Sweden, as reported today by the Main Office of the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ).
The Resia agency chain published this message about Croatia in its barometer, which is one of the most influential and widely cited reports in the Swedish tourism sector, and serves as an indicator of general tourism trends at the national level.
This is also the first time Croatia has made it to the list of the five most popular foreign destinations in Sweden, which also includes Spain, Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus.
The barometer also states that last year, Swedes chose Split, Dubrovnik, and Zadar as their top travel destinations in Croatia through the Resia chain, partly due to the airports, while their total sales of programs for Croatian destinations increased by 50 percent last year.
For Swedes, Croatia represents an attractive destination due to its rich and diverse offerings, from natural attractions to cultural and entertainment events and activities.
