Six Croatian companies have received approval to export their meat and dairy products to the market of the Russian Federation from the relevant Russian authorities, the Ministry of Agriculture reported today.
The right to export to the Russian Federation has been granted to two facilities of Vindija and one facility each of PIK Vrbovca, Belje, Koke, and Perutnine Ptuj-Pipo.
The Veterinary Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture received today a letter from the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation, which states that six food companies from Croatia have been granted approval to export their meat and dairy products to the market of the Customs Union, according to the ministry’s statement.
They note that the Veterinary Administration has successfully and relatively quickly completed the official procedure for meeting the very demanding prescribed conditions of the Russian Federation and the Customs Union, enabling our companies to access an exceptionally large market that opens further broad trading opportunities, with the help and significant support of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Moscow.
These are Croatian companies that, in addition to fully meeting the demanding criteria of Croatian and EU legislation, have also satisfied the very strict export criteria of the Customs Union, the ministry’s statement indicates.
The success is even more significant considering that EU member states, whose companies wish to export to this large and attractive market, go through a significantly longer process of meeting the conditions, the Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes.
They also express hope that this success will interest and encourage other Croatian food-producing companies to try their hand in this market and that this step will be just one in a series of steps leading to economic recovery.
