At the beginning of March, a new opportunity for interns at Ina

Just like in the past three years, Ina plans to launch a recruitment competition for interns Growww 2013, which will be announced at the beginning of March and will last until June.

Growww enables young professionals to gain work experience under the guidance of professionals in their field, as well as to showcase themselves in an international environment, meaning they can connect and collaborate with colleagues from other companies within the MOL group. This is a program for employing young talents in the fields of oil mining, chemistry, engineering, economics, computer science, and partly other professions (law, construction, occupational safety). The program is implemented in all countries where companies of the MOL group are located.
In September 2012, the Ina group employed 129 interns. They were selected from among 3,800 registered young highly educated talents based on a complex selection process. Challenging business goals have been set for the new interns, as well as for their colleagues from previous generations, which they will achieve under the guidance of mentors. During the internship, they will undergo detailed business training and get acquainted with Ina’s refinery facilities and gas plants. Their work and efficiency will be closely monitored and evaluated, and after the internship, they will have to pass an internship exam. Interns who meet the set criteria will receive a permanent contract.

Challenging and stimulating Ina decided to launch the Growww program in 2010 primarily due to the realization that educated, talented, and motivated employees are the key to success in new business challenges. The purpose of Growww is not only, they say, to provide an opportunity for young people to gain initial work experience but also to retain them in the company. Ambitious business goals will be set for the new interns, as was the case with their colleagues from previous generations, and they will undergo business training under the guidance of mentors.

– If someone were to ask me to describe how it is to work in my current position at Ina in three words, the answer would be: dynamic, challenging, and stimulating – says Ana Vuković, a technology engineer, who became an intern in 2010 and then a permanent member of Ina’s team. Ana explains that by working in the Production Excellence department, she applies her engineering knowledge from university, gains practical experience in the field – where the product is created, communicates with people from different areas of activity, languages, and cultures, and adapts to new situations.
– I love challenges, so daily deviations from the usual state are not a problem for me – says Ana, adding that the intern job at Ina involves continuous learning, whether it is reading literature, talking to colleagues, visiting Ina’s facilities, or attending traditional seminars.
– The feeling that I can progress as an engineer, but also as a colleague and a person, motivates me to enjoy even more in what I do. This is also contributed by the wide range of jobs at Ina where I can envision how my career will develop. For all the above reasons and many more, I can say that I am a satisfied employee of Ina – claims Ana.

Invaluable experience geophysical data processing specialist Goran Jović started his career at Ina as an intern of the Growww 2011 generation in the Geology and Reservoir Management Sector.

– As part of the Business Education Program and at numerous lectures by various experts, I got to know almost all segments of activity and business processes at Ina – says Goran, adding that he found the tours of the refineries in Sisak and Rijeka and other production facilities particularly interesting during his business education.
– I had the opportunity to see operations at the drilling site and feel fieldwork in different weather conditions – explained Goran, emphasizing that systematic tours of all business units dealing with the exploration and development of oil and gas fields and many expert colloquia within the Sector helped him form a broader picture of exploration and production in the oil industry.
– The company invests a lot in employee education, so I had the opportunity to learn and improve at numerous seminars and workshops in Croatia and abroad – emphasizes Goran. He particularly praises colleagues who are always friendly and facilitate the adaptation and progress of interns.

There is always room for improvement Bojana Protić, a human relations specialist, started working at Ina as an intern of the first generation of Growww in 2010, in the Human Resources Management Sector. During her internship, she was in a multinational and dynamic environment, continuously learning and developing personally and professionally, which she continues to do.

– Colleagues and associates are extremely friendly and always willing to share knowledge and experience with me and other new colleagues – says Bojana. She adds that she has seen firsthand that Ina truly recognizes the importance of young talents and encourages their education and improvement by offering numerous opportunities, from internal and external training to studying while working and working abroad.
– In the Human Resources Management Sector, we have applied modern human resource management models present in leading global companies – says Bojana about her workplace, and she concludes that Growww interns have connected not only professionally but also enjoy socializing privately and often organize formal and informal gatherings.
Candidates for internships at Ina are selected based on resume evaluation, psychological testing, and interviews. The internship consists of a general and professional part, and they are introduced to the job by mentors. All interns also go through a practical part consisting of tours of refineries, plants, and gas stations. Additionally, by the end of the internship, they will attend about 15 lessons, during which they will also have certain group tasks. At the end of the internship, both mentors and interns are evaluated.

Students evaluate In the past three years, the company has employed more than 350 interns through Growww, most of whom are still part of the Ina and Ina group team. The new approach in the recruitment process through the implementation of the Growww program has also contributed to the company becoming a proud holder of the Employer Partner certificate, and it is important that the students themselves recognized the importance of Ina’s initiatives related to students, which includes the Growww program, so in 2012, they awarded Ina the Golden Index award in as many as six categories.
