Croatia More Favorable for Investors than Slovenia

In a new case study comparing investment conditions in Croatia and Slovenia, Sense Consulting concluded that Croatia is a more favorable destination for investors.

The task was to compare incentives and support in Croatia and Slovenia and, after selecting the country, identify, choose, and recommend a location that would provide the most favorable conditions for investment. In addition to the basic criteria that the future location had to meet (such as land size, proximity to major traffic routes, available workforce), the expected state and EU incentives that the company could obtain by choosing the location also had a significant impact on the final selection.

Namely, in Croatia, according to the new Investment Promotion and Improvement of the Investment Environment Act, investing in areas of Croatian counties with a registered unemployment rate over 20 percent can yield up to 50 percent higher amounts of non-repayable incentive funds compared to counties where the registered unemployment rate ranges from 10 to 20 percent.

The subject of further analysis was the entrepreneurial zones in Croatia, as they represent a significant tool of national policy to promote local economic development. Methodologically, the analysis of entrepreneurial zones for the subject investment was conducted through several phases: selection of regions acceptable for investment, selection of entrepreneurial zones that are operational and meet the minimum investment criteria, and business zones that are optimal for investment. -The analysis identified two entrepreneurial zones as the highest quality that met all the criteria set by the client, maximizing potential incentives and benefits. I am pleased to highlight that as a result of the research, I can announce the beginning of negotiations between the investor and the two recommended zones, and the start of investment at one of the recommended locations is expected very soon.- said Ana Jadreško, a consultant from Sense Consulting.
