For the announcement of a referendum on the Project for the construction of a golf course at Srđ, more than 6500 signatures were collected by last night, the Organizing Committee for the referendum reported today.
They also expressed satisfaction with the large response and emphasized that ‘once again the spirit of Dubrovnik and awareness of the importance of democracy and strategic development of the city has been demonstrated.’ More than 150 volunteers are participating in the signature collection at six locations, and to proceed with the referendum, it is necessary to collect 8000 signatures or 20 percent of the electorate.
The signature collection began on February 1 and will last until February 15, according to the Organizing Committee for the referendum.
