Finance Minister Slavko Linić and Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak met yesterday at Banski Dvori with Charles Paradis, President of the Croatian-French Business Council MEDEF and Executive Director of Bouygues Construction Concessions, representatives of French companies in the Republic of Croatia, and the Embassy of the French Republic in the Republic of Croatia.
The meeting was also attended by Jakša Puljiz, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Boris Lalovac, Deputy Minister of Finance, and Darko Lorencin, Assistant Minister of Economy.
“Economic growth based on investments is the cornerstone of the Government’s program,” said Finance Minister Slavko Linić, presenting the Government of the Republic of Croatia’s program in the economic sector. Discussions focused on projects in energy, infrastructure, and tourism, and in this context, there was also talk about introducing strong financial discipline, which began last year. Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak presented a series of concrete projects related to investment in energy, for which the greatest interest was expressed at the meeting.
Michèlle Boccoz, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Croatia, highlighted the interest of French companies in investing in Croatia, and Charles Paradis stated that the purpose of the visit by the delegation of about 30 companies was to familiarize themselves with investment opportunities, particularly with the Government’s priorities and objectives in this area.
“Your accession to the European Union will create new investment opportunities, so we want to get to know Croatia as well as possible,” he emphasized.
