Panasonic has appointed Christian Sokcevic as the director for the Central and Southeast Europe region (CSEE Managing Director).
Starting from February 1, 2013, the new director will take responsibility for a region consisting of 12 countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia).
Commenting on this appointment, Christian Sokcevic stated: “I am honored to become the director of Panasonic’s CSEE region. My primary goal will be to strengthen the company’s position in the region and increase its market share in the coming years. Although we are facing the consequences of the economic crisis, I believe that Panasonic can improve its business, primarily thanks to its unique ability to devise innovative and smart solutions for a variety of sectors and consumers.”
Since February 1999, when he joined Panasonic, Christian Sokcevic has held various managerial roles in the AV industry. His last position was that of director of PSCEU (Professional Camera Solutions Unit Europe) in Wiesbaden, covering the broadcasting and production sector as well as video surveillance and medical camera applications.
In recent years, Panasonic has positioned itself well in the markets of Central and Southeast Europe, under the leadership of its two directors: Jiří Opletal and Istvan Stark. Mr. Opletal spent 17 years in the Czech Republic, while Mr. Stark spent 18 years in Hungary, holding various positions in Panasonic’s management. Panasonic greatly appreciates the efforts of both: their work has contributed to the stable position of the company and its excellent reputation in the region.
