The leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačić assessed that there is no reason for early elections and that the government is stable and united in achieving its goals and obligations.
At an extraordinary press conference at the SPS headquarters, Dačić stated, following the request of the opposition Democratic Party to dissolve parliament and call early elections, that the government is stable and has results that no other government has achieved in such a short time with a high level of trust, and that such a level of support was only achieved when visa liberalization was obtained.
At the same time, Dačić is faced with serious accusations of meeting with representatives of the notorious drug lord Darko Šarić. Dačić dismissed all accusations.
However, he admitted to meeting with Rodoljub Radulović, but he says he did not know that he was a member of a criminal group. Radulović, known as Miša Amerika, is suspected of cocaine trafficking and is a high-ranking member of Šarić’s drug clan. However, Dačić emphasized that he never assisted Radulović.
He showed journalists the so-called white book listing the names of members of criminal groups and pointed out that Radulović, Šarić’s associate with whom he met, is not among those names. This raises a new question, why was I not informed? Who was playing with my security, with the authority of a state function, Dačić said, asking who should inform him about this, the police or someone else.
