Đaković Interested in Restructuring HŽ-Cargo

Đuro Đaković Holding today reported that as part of a consortium, which includes two venture capital management companies, it has expressed interest in participating in the restructuring of the company HŽ-Cargo.

The consortium, composed of venture capital management companies, Nexus Private Equity Partners for the Nexus FGS fund and Quaestus Private Equity for the Quaestus Private Equity Capital II fund, of which Đuro Đaković Holding is a part, has expressed interest in participating in the restructuring of HŽ-Cargo, according to a statement released by Đuro Đaković Holding on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

The interest was expressed based on a public call issued on January 8 by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.

From the Slavonski Brod holding, it is stated that the fate of HŽ-Cargo has a direct impact on the operations of the Transport Division, which is why Đuro Đaković decided to take an active role in the consortium.

Đuro Đaković Group, as the only manufacturer of freight wagons in Croatia, sees its role in the consortium as ensuring its business interests, primarily preserving its market position in Croatia, producing freight wagons in Slavonski Brod, and collecting existing receivables from HŽ-Cargo, they emphasize from Đuro Đaković.

Participation in the consortium does not simultaneously indicate the Group’s interest in entering the transport services segment, it is emphasized in the statement.

The Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, announced on January 8 a call for interested parties to express their interest in participating in the restructuring process of HŽ Cargo. The restructuring process also includes the possibility of acquiring its business shares, and the deadline for expressing interest in the form of a letter of interest expires today.
