Market value of 1,104 securities in SKDD is 323 billion kuna

The market value of all 1,104 securities listed in the Central Clearing Depository (SKDD) at the end of 2012 amounted to nearly 323 billion kuna, which is 8.8 percent higher than at the end of 2011, according to data from the quarterly statistical bulletin of SKDD published today.

The increase in market value at the end of 2012 is recorded despite the fact that the number of securities listed in the SKDD depository decreased by 21 compared to 2011, and despite the fact that last year the stock indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange, as an indicator of the movement of market value of the most attractive securities, remained almost unchanged compared to 2011, while only the bond indices ended the year in the positive.

The value of the Crobex stock index at the end of 2012 was almost unchanged compared to the end of 2011, while the value of the specialized Crobex10 index decreased by a slight 0.5 percent.

At the same time, the market value of 949 stocks from the SKDD depository increased by almost 7 percent, to 234.6 billion kuna, although there were 17 fewer in the depository than at the end of the previous year.

The bond indices CROBIS and CROBIStr ended the past year with growth of 14 and 20 percent, while at the same time the market value of 59 bonds in the Croatian market increased by 10.5 percent, to 62 billion kuna.

SKDD data also show that last year there was a decrease in the share of domestic individuals in the ownership of securities, by one percentage point, to 7.65 percent.

The largest share, at 50.08 percent, is still held by domestic legal entities, although their share also decreased by almost two percentage points compared to the end of 2011.

At the same time, the share of foreign individuals increased by 1.69 percentage points, so at the end of 2012, foreigners owned 28.7 percent of Croatian securities, measured by their market value.
