Construction Works Decreased by 12 Percent

Construction works in Croatia in November of last year, according to seasonally adjusted indices, were down by 12 percent compared to the same month in 2011.

Seasonally adjusted indices show a decrease in construction works in November compared to October by 2.3 percent, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

The decline in construction works on an annual basis is also indicated by the original indices (calendar and seasonally unadjusted), which show that in November 2012, compared to November 2011, the physical volume of construction works fell by 11.6 percent.

Annual rates of change calculated from seasonally adjusted indices indicate that in November of last year, compared to the eleventh month of the year before, the decline in construction activities on buildings amounted to 19.9 percent, while on other constructions it was 5.1 percent.

In November of last year, 53 percent of working hours were spent on new constructions, while 47 percent were spent on other works.

On buildings, 41.7 percent of working hours were spent, while on other constructions it was 58.3 percent.
