Čačić will have to serve 11 months in prison

Former First Deputy Prime Minister Radimir Čačić will indeed go to Croatian prison for 11 months. According to Jutarnji list, three judges of the Zagreb County Court have confirmed the decision of the Hungarian court.

The preliminary council made such a decision yesterday, but it will reportedly only be sent to the parties tomorrow and will then be published.

Any potential appeal can only delay Čačić’s serving of the sentence, but it is now quite certain that the former First Deputy Prime Minister will have to go to prison for 11 months. In the event that the court decided to reduce Čačić’s sentence, the Hungarians must also agree to such a decision.  There is a possibility of an appeal to the Supreme Court regarding the council’s decision.
