Facebook Introduces New Search Engine

Facebook has introduced a new addition to its social network, a smart search engine called Graph Search. This new service allows users to perform ‘natural’ searches for content posted online by their friends.

Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized during the presentation of the new service that it is not an internet search engine and that there is no question of competing with Google.

Zuckerberg stated that he did not expect people to start using Facebook to search the internet. That is not our intention. However, in case you cannot find what you are looking for, it is good to have this, he added.
Graph Search is expected to enable more detailed searches of content based on various and very specific parameters. This pertains to all content that users share with each other, including photos, statuses, location data, and likes, and the processing of data uses the English language.
