Welcomed fiscalization and lowered prices

McDonald’s supports the new Government decision regarding the reduction of the Value Added Tax rate from 25% to 10%.

The reduction of the Value Added Tax rate from 25% to 10% on food preparation services and catering services in hospitality establishments, as well as the preparation and serving of non-alcoholic beverages and drinks, wine, and beer, allows us to significantly reduce the retail price of our best-selling products, thereby demonstrating our care and gratitude for our most loyal customers who have been visiting our restaurants for the seventeenth year. The price reduction applies, among other things, to McDonald’s most famous product – the Big Mac, with the price of the McMenu reduced from 33 to 29.50 kuna, and the small McMenu reduced from 30 to 26.5 kuna, while the price of the Happy Meal for children, which has not changed in the last four years, is reduced from 21 to 19 kuna. The price changes took effect at the beginning of the year.

-We are committed to the satisfaction of our guests and we do this through price reductions at a time when our guests, more than ever, seek value for their money, through the development and reinvestment in our business and our people, through the opening of new restaurants and the creation of new jobs, which makes McDonald’s stand out as a socially responsible company. Therefore, we welcome the initiated process of fiscalization, as it provides an equal starting position for all players in the market. – said Pavel Pavliček, director of McDonald’s in Croatia-

The franchise rights holder for the McDonald’s brand in Croatia is Globalna hrana d.o.o. Approximately 1300 employees serve over 14 million guests annually, achieving a trend of revenue growth year after year. Since acquiring the license in 2010, more than 80 million kuna has been invested in Croatia, solidifying the position of market leader in the domestic market. The opening of the first McCafe in Dalmatia at the end of December as a separate entity within the Joker shopping center in Split completed the investment cycle in 2012. McCafe prides itself not only on the exceptional quality of its coffee but also on holding the Rainforest Alliance certification, which pertains to socially responsible business practices and guarantees that the coffee is grown on farms that protect and do not harm forests, rivers, soil, and wildlife while respecting the rights of all workers who work there and fully operate in accordance with sustainable development.
