Petrokemija’s Stock Trading Exceeds 6 Million Kuna

After yesterday’s rise and reaching the highest levels in the last 15 months, the stock indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange recorded a slight decline today, with Crobex finishing the day down 0.03 percent at 1,876.42 points.

The specialized index Crobex10 fell by 0.08 percent to 1,050.85 points. The regular turnover of the Exchange amounted to 23.5 million kuna, with Petrokemija’s stock in focus for investors. The trading volume of Petrokemija’s stock amounted to 6.1 million kuna, and after yesterday’s rise of 8 percent, the price of that stock fell today by 5.29 percent to 246.95 kuna. The Defense Headquarters for Petrokemija announced today that it will not allow the privatization of the company, which is predominantly state-owned, and requested that Petrokemija be allowed to take advantage of the conditions for free access to the gas market in Europe and its increasingly better business operations. Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak stated to reporters today that his ministry is currently not considering the privatization of Kutina’s Petrokemija, but that the company’s situation is unsustainable in the long term. He said that he has not heard of the idea of privatization even in the corridors, that it is not currently in the plan, but that medium-term and long-term considerations will have to be made on how to prevent Petrokemija from operating at a loss. He emphasized that care will be taken to protect jobs and the interests of employees.

Four more stocks had a turnover of over one million kuna today, with Ingra’s stock sold for 1.8 million kuna, and its price jumped by 9.56 percent to 4.70 kuna. Stocks of HT achieved a turnover of over 1.7 million kuna, with their price rising by 0.37 percent to 212 kuna, while Tisak’s stock was traded for 1.6 million kuna, with a price increase of 3.40 percent to 210 kuna.

A price drop of 1.48 percent to 119.70 kuna was recorded for Valamar Adria Holding’s stocks, which were traded for 1.4 million kuna. Close to a million kuna in turnover were the stocks of Riviera Adria with 968.8 thousand kuna and the preferred stock of Adris Group with 901.8 thousand kuna, with Riviera Adria’s stock recording a price drop of 0.15 percent, while Adris’s stock rose by 0.35 percent.

Among the more traded stocks, prices also fell for Ericsson Nikola Tesla’s stocks by 0.20 percent, Dalekovod by 0.24 percent, Ledo by 0.65 percent, AD Plastika by 0.69 percent, Termes Group by 1.14 percent, Đuro Đaković Holding by 1.81 percent, etc.

On the other hand, price increases today were recorded for Belje’s stocks by 1.08 percent, IGH Institute by 1.69 percent, Ina by 2.99 percent, Končar – Distribution and Special Transformers by 3.54 percent, Vupik by 3.67 percent, Badel 1862 by 3.82 percent, and Atlantic Group by 4.65 percent.
