The round table on the topic ‘Croatia, a year-round Riviera of Europe – strategic and legal frameworks for the development of health tourism’ will be held on Tuesday, January 15, at the Journalists’ House in Zagreb.
Participants include Dario Sambunjak, advisor to the Minister of Health for strategic projects, Ivo Bašić, advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Ljubo Jurčić, macroeconomic expert, Guste Santini, economic analyst, Milena Peršić, head of the postgraduate study Health Tourism Rijeka-Opatija, Mile Klepo, director of the Association of Employers in Health, Spomenka Tomek-Roksandić, head of the Reference Center of the Ministry of Health for the protection of the health of the elderly, and
Miljenko Bura, president of the Association for the Development of Medical Tourism.
The round table will examine the position of health tourism in the Health Development Strategy from 2012 to 2020 and the Tourism Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2020. Additionally, exemplary development projects of potential health tourism destinations will be presented. These include lectures on: Lošinj, the island of vitality – a step towards health and medical tourism, Modern trends in medical wellness – new hotel offerings, Varaždinske Toplice – a development project for transformation into a health tourism destination, and finally, consolidated elements for an action plan for the organized development of health tourism in Croatia will be presented.
