The Civil Aviation Agency has announced that cargo traffic at Zagreb Airport fell by 27 percent in 2012. However, the CEO of ZLZ, Miroslav Drljača, claims that the Agency is interested in data for which the fee for its operations is calculated, and it only concerns outgoing traffic per kilogram of cargo.
He emphasizes that cargo is also brought in and that there are cargo and shipments that are exempt from the obligation to calculate and collect the fee. He believes that this is likely where the difference has arisen. In an interview with Lider, Drljača explains ZLZ’s position ahead of the takeover of management from the French concessionaire ZAIC.
– If we look at the price list, ZLZ is certainly competitive compared to the airports in the region. We also follow modern technological achievements, but the problem is the infrastructure. Our passenger and cargo terminal is not the most modern, which is why a project for the construction of a new one will be implemented. In addition to the development of the network of regular lines, the other two strategic determinants are the development of infrastructure and technology – said Drljača.
