Facebook began testing the new Timeline a few months ago, and as of yesterday, the new Timeline has become available to users of this social network in New Zealand, and it is expected that Zuckerberg’s company will soon introduce it to a larger number of users.
Changes in the Timeline will allow for better organization of user personal pages and, according to The Next Web, place a greater emphasis on communication between friends.
The main novelty brought by the new Timeline is that the screen will no longer be divided into two equal columns, but rather the access to content on the left side of the screen has been increased, where posts from users and their friends will be located, while the right side will contain information about friends, recent user activities, likes, applications, and other information.
Additionally, as the space reserved for status updates increases, featured posts will no longer stretch across the entire screen, and interestingly, the main page will no longer contain information about the relationship status of users on this network, which means that Facebook has also decided to pay a little more attention to user privacy.
The new Timeline also brings changes in the way ‘boxes’ with friends, photos, maps, and similar items are displayed, which are now located just below the cover photo, and instead of them, this information will be found in several text menus on the new Timeline, making the Facebook user’s ‘timeline’ appear simpler and more organized.
