The company Autoceste Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine announced a public call for bids on Tuesday for the construction of the second phase of the Vijenac tunnel on the highway along corridor V c, which is a project worth 24 million euros.
The deadline for submitting bids is February 14, and the selection of the best bidder is expected in March when the works on the tunneling are to be completed, located on the section of the highway between Sarajevo and Zenica.
The second phase includes works on the construction of traffic lanes, internal concrete lining of the tunnel, as well as finishing asphalt works on the approach to the tunnel.
According to earlier announcements, the tunnel is expected to be opened to traffic during 2014. All construction costs are financed from a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Slovenian companies SCT and Primorje were previously engaged in the construction of the Vijenac tunnel, but contracts with them were terminated due to delays caused by problems in those companies.
