The government project ‘Clean start’, or the analysis of the situation found in 22 state bodies and companies as of January 1, 2012, has shown that the ministries of economy, agriculture, and finance have outstanding unpaid obligations totaling 1.46 billion kuna.
The outstanding obligations carried over into 2012 in the Ministry of Finance as of December 31, 2011, amounted to 642.4 million kuna, in the Ministry of Economy 255.5 million kuna, and in the Ministry of Agriculture 570 million kuna.
Data on the total amount of obligations undertaken for future periods that are not recorded in the State Treasury show that the Ministry of Economy has obligations from 2013 to 2014 amounting to 612.4 million kuna for budget supervision, obligations in the process of privatizing shipbuilding of 345 million kuna in 2012, around one billion kuna in 2013, and a total of up to three billion kuna by 2015.
Potential obligations of that ministry not recorded in the State Treasury also relate to an obligation of 20 million US dollars undertaken by a contract between the government and the shipowner for Brodosplit. Among the potential obligations of the Ministry of Economy are also obligations of 70 million dollars for shipbuilding (3. maj) and a debt to Fina against Regos amounting to 69.4 million kuna.
