Telekom Austria is exploring options to raise several hundred million euros needed for upcoming major investments, stated CEO Rudolf Kemler in an interview with the Austrian magazine News.
In an interview published on Thursday, Kemler reminded of the upcoming auction of new radio frequencies, also pointing out the need to extend existing frequency lease agreements.
– We probably do not have the funds for that within the TA group – he said, announcing therefore a move towards capital market instruments. - We have authorized management to take measures in that direction – he said.
When asked if he meant the issuance of hybrid bonds worth up to 800 million euros, Kemler replied: ‘Our considerations are in that range.’
