The City of Zagreb has announced a public Wi-Fi system tender in the Narodne novine.
The project is valued at one million kuna, and the deadline for submitting bids is January 13, 2013. The tender was published on December 24.
Among the conditions for obtaining the tender are ISO 27001 standard, completed course for Wi-Fi Mesh RF design, a certain number of specialized employees, and having already completed two similar jobs of the same value as that in the tender.
Let us recall that in November of this year, free Internet in the city center of Zagreb was announced by the president of the City Assembly, Davor Bernardić, stating that he would propose the initiative to the representatives and that funding would be secured in the budget for 2013.
Free Internet has been announced several times, but it has yet to be realized. Unlike the capital, Varaždin has had free internet service for four years, and they spent about 400 thousand kuna on its implementation. According to information from Večernji list, its maintenance costs about fifty thousand kuna annually.
