Construction Works Decrease by 7.5 Percent

Construction works in Croatia in October, according to seasonally adjusted indices, were down by 7.5 percent compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics.

Seasonally adjusted indices on a monthly basis show an increase in construction works in October compared to September of 2.6 percent. Annual rates of change calculated from seasonally adjusted indices indicate that in October this year, compared to the tenth month of last year, the decline in construction activities on buildings amounted to 16.1 percent, while on other constructions it was 0.3 percent.

The decline in construction works on an annual basis is also shown by the original indices (calendar and seasonally unadjusted), according to which in October this year, compared to October last year, the physical volume of construction works fell by 4.9 percent.
In October, 54.1 percent of working hours were spent on new constructions, while 45.9 percent were spent on other works.
On buildings, 41.5 percent of the hours worked were spent, while on other constructions it was 58.5 percent.
