The European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE) and Zagrebačka banka have signed a loan agreement of 20 million euros intended for financing micro and small enterprises in various sectors with amounts up to a maximum of 100 thousand euros.
The European Fund for Southeast Europe was initiated by KfW (German Development Bank) with financial support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany and the European Commission, and this is the Fund’s first investment in Croatia. The EFSE loan will enable Zagrebačka banka to enhance financing for micro and small entrepreneurs, especially regarding long-term loans.
– We are extremely pleased with the opportunity to collaborate with Zagrebačka banka, which has recognized the importance of supporting micro and small entrepreneurs and facilitating access to financing despite the current indicators in the economic and financial environment. We are confident that the positive impact of this first loan will encourage other banks to follow its example, said Monika Beck, President of EFSE, during the signing.
– The loan agreement with EFSE will enable the expansion of the lending programs specifically aimed at them. Our goal is to assist small and micro entrepreneurs so that even in unfavorable economic conditions, they can not only maintain their business but also invest in growth, stated Nino Nikolić-Malora, Director of Business Strategy and Financing Products at Zagrebačka banka.
