Microsoft Lyncom Connects Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Sarajevo

Microsoft’s subsidiaries in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina organized an exclusive gastronomic event called 360° Senses, which took place simultaneously in Ljubljana, Zagreb, and Sarajevo.

By connecting haute cuisine and new technologies, the company demonstrated how Lync and the new version of Office can enhance collaboration and improve productivity.
Through the Lync system, chefs from Ljubljana’s JB Restavracija, Zagreb’s Baltazar, and Sarajevo’s Hedona communicated live. Guests were able to follow the details of meal preparation on screens and communicate with the chefs and the event host, ‘masterchef’ Mato Janković. The new approach to culinary creativity without borders was inspired by Microsoft’s Lync 2013 technology, which, along with interactivity and a range of collaboration options, enables advanced business communication available to companies and organizations of all sizes.

At the same time, it was noted that users, with the help of Lync as an integral part of the Office system, can collaborate through a unified communication solution that works excellently on all new Windows devices as well as in the cloud version of Office 365, available to small, medium, and large companies.
– Microsoft’s solutions, including the Lync system, help companies accelerate and simplify operations and increase efficiency. By unifying solutions for audio and video conferencing, multi-user meetings, instant messaging, collaboration, and live document editing, which is available to companies of all sizes and profiles, we wanted to show that in today’s world, unified communication requires just one click or touch, no matter where you are – said Ivan Vidaković, director of Microsoft Croatia.
As part of the event, an example of Lync implementation in a small family business, the Slovenian winery Penine Istenič, was also discussed. Founded over 40 years ago as the first Slovenian sparkling wine factory, Penine Istenič uses Lync to communicate with sales partners and restaurants that exclusively serve its products, enabling faster business processes, flexibility, and increased productivity.

– Microsoft’s technologies and the Lync system have significantly improved our business in recent years. It allows us to quickly and easily contact partners and customers and arrange collaborations as if we were sitting at the same table. We can exchange notes and participate in audio and video conference calls, greatly saving on business travel. Even when I am away from the winery, I only need a laptop and I can connect no matter where I am, so the business continues to function smoothly and progress. In April next year, we will organize the first intercontinental presentation of sparkling wines using Microsoft Lync – emphasized Miha Istenič, director of Penine Istenič.
Technological support for the implementation of the gastronomic event in Zagreb was provided by Span, a company specialized in supporting businesses and organizations of all sizes, which has many successful references in Croatia and worldwide.
– Through a long-standing partnership with Microsoft as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, we have implemented numerous solutions, including significant installations of the Lync system. From experience, we can confirm that this is a solution that is truly easy to implement in companies of all sizes and that addresses the communication challenges of today’s business with excellent user experience and measurable cost reduction and productivity increase, as users can access the system from a computer, mobile phone, or web browser, no matter where they are – concluded Nikola Dujmović, general director of Span.
