Many Croatians will again rush towards the snowy slopes of fashionable ski resorts this year. Austria has once again proven to be a cult destination for all skiing enthusiasts from Croatia, and according to forecasts, every second Croatian traveling for winter holidays will choose Austria as their destination.
In addition to Austria, Italy, particularly South Tyrol, is becoming an increasingly popular destination, as shown by independent research from the Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group (FMTG) from Austria. The favorite ski resorts are Nassfeld, Kronplatz, and Schladming.
According to the data obtained, Croatians stay on winter holidays for an average of 5.3 days, while the traditionally most popular period for skiing is from January 5 to January 12 during the winter school holidays. A higher number of overnight stays is also expected in February and March.
