Despite the crisis, Zagreb Brewery has maintained its century-old tradition.
The brewery once again delighted the people of Zagreb by presenting them with Christmas beer at the newly opened
pub Tkalča. Although different each year, it is interesting how for the last 23 years, Christmas beer has surprised with artistic label designs, which have been created in the last six years by promising young visual artists, and before that by established names from the domestic art scene. Among
the established visual artists who expressed their interpretation of the Christmas atmosphere on the label of Christmas beer are, among many others, Miroslav Šutej, Ivan Lacković Croata, Rudolf Labaš, Đuro Pulitika, and Željko Kipke. The author of this year’s Christmas beer label is young visual artist Manuel Šumberac. Strollers on Tkalčić Street in Zagreb had the opportunity
to enjoy an unusual performance by young singer Franka Batelić, who sang Christmas songs accompanied by original music played on the bottles of Christmas beer. The pre-holiday atmosphere with familiar melodies in an unusual interpretation surprised the gathered passersby.
