In the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, 2.1 million tourists stayed in the first eleven months of this year, achieving 12.1 million overnight stays, which is 2 percent more tourists and 3 percent more overnight stays than in the same period last year, according to data from the Kvarner Tourist Board.
The highest number of overnight stays from January to the end of November was on the island of Krk (31.6 percent), followed by Mali LoĊĦinj (16.2 percent), the island of Rab (14.7 percent), the Opatija Riviera (12.8 percent), the Crikvenica Riviera (11.4 percent), the island of Cres (6 percent), and in Novi Vinodolski (4.5 percent).
Guests from Germany recorded the highest number of overnight stays (29.8 percent), followed by tourists from Slovenia (15.5 percent), Austria (12.1 percent), and Italy (11.1 percent).
The highest number of overnight stays was achieved in private accommodation (4.9 million), followed by hotels (3.6 million) and camps (3.1 million).
In November, 27,829 tourists stayed in Kvarner, which is 17 percent more than in November of last year, and 72,373 overnight stays were recorded, or 10 percent more.
In November, the highest number of guests in Kvarner came from Austria, Slovenia, Germany, and Italy, and they mostly stayed in hotels (78.8 percent), particularly on the Opatija Riviera, where 54.1 percent of overnight stays were recorded in November.
