Citizens Owe 623 Million Kuna More

Due to unpaid payment obligations totaling 44.54 billion kuna at the end of October, 72,654 business entities were blocked, as well as 242,192 citizens whose total debt amounted to 16.31 billion kuna, Fina reported.

The total value of unpaid payment obligations of business entities at the end of October this year was 0.1 percent lower compared to the state at the end of September. At the same time, citizens’ debts were 623 million kuna higher, according to data published on Fina’s website.

Of the total number of business entities blocked at the end of October, just over half, or 37,551, are legal entities employing a total of 38,418 workers, and they account for 81.7 percent of the total amount of unpaid payment obligations at the end of October, totaling 36.37 billion kuna.

There were also 35,103 individuals engaged in registered activities (i.e., craftsmen) blocked, with a total of 22,648 employees, and their debt amounts to 8.16 billion kuna.

Fina’s data shows that among business entities, those in long-term blockades still dominate, but the number of insolvent business entities in blockade longer than 360 days, as well as the amount of their unpaid payment obligations in October, decreased compared to September.

The number of business entities in long-term blockade at the end of October was 56,359, or 1.7 percent less than in September, while their total liabilities were simultaneously 0.1 percent lower, amounting to 36.6 billion kuna.

Fina notes that among business entities in long-term blockade, longer than one year, those blocked for five years or more dominate, accounting for 36.3 percent or 20,448, and their unpaid obligations amount to nearly 10 billion kuna.

For legal entities, the smallest amount of reported overdue unpaid payment obligations lasting up to 30 days is 462.4 million kuna, while the largest for legal entities in long-term blockade, longer than 360 days, amounts to 29.3 billion kuna.

In the total number of legal entities in long-term blockade, companies without employees dominate – there were 22,193 such companies at the end of October, or 77.1 percent of the total number, and their total debt amounted to 17.7 billion kuna.

For individuals engaged in registered activities in blockade longer than one year, 78.6 percent applies. The smallest amount of reported overdue unpaid payment obligations for individuals lasting from 31 to 60 days is 57.6 million kuna, while the largest for those in continuous blockade lasting more than 360 days is 7.27 billion kuna.

Among individuals who are long-term blocked, 61.9 percent or 17,082 have no employed workers, and their total debt amounts to 4.1 billion kuna.
