Atlantic Grupa last week concluded a significant refinancing deal for the credit arrangement it had due to the acquisition of Droga Kolinska in London. This transaction is worth 307 million euros.
Six banks participated in the arrangement, led by the EBRD. The majority owner of Atlantic, Emil Tedeschi, revealed business plans and assessed the market situation in an interview with Matilda Bačelić for Lider. Commenting on a recent very large transaction with international financial institutions, he stated that the deal was concluded in record time, although six months may sound long.
– For the first time, we worked with the World Bank, specifically with the IFC, and with the Russian Sberbank, on refinancing that involved four other institutions. This requires great persuasiveness and skill – primarily in presentation and negotiation. In terms of complexity, this is certainly one of the most demanding deals we have made in the 21 years of Atlantic Grupa, perhaps not media-attractive, but certainly comparable to the acquisition of Droga Kolinska – said Tedeschi.
