The HAKOM Council has adopted a new Regulation on the payment of fees for the operations of the Croatian Agency for Postal and Electronic Communications following a public consultation.
The Regulation determines the amount and method of payment of fees for HAKOM’s operations in the upcoming year, and the fee for the use of the radio frequency spectrum in mobile networks is reduced by an additional 20 percent compared to the current year.
The trend of reducing fees for operators that began with the onset of the economic crisis in 2008 continues this year, HAKOM announced.
– Through the allocation of the digital dividend and effective management of the radio frequency spectrum and overall operations, HAKOM has projected a significant reduction in the fees that mobile operators pay for the allocated spectrum for the next year. The most significant fees that finance HAKOM have decreased by over 40 percent in the past four years regarding fees for managing the radio frequency spectrum, and by almost 22 percent for fees for performing other HAKOM operations – HAKOM stated.
