American Express Gift Card Introduced

The leading card issuer in Croatia, PBZ Card, has introduced the latest American Express card in its portfolio – the American Express Gift Card.

Funds can be loaded onto the American Express Gift Card in amounts of 200, 500, or 1,000 kuna. The amount loaded onto the card is printed on its front side. With each purchase, the amount of loaded funds decreases. The American Express Gift Card can be used at over 55,000 different retail locations in Croatia with POS and self-service devices, as well as at Croatian online retail sites.

All that those wishing to gift this card need to do is visit one of the selected branches of Privredna banka Zagreb d.d. (a list of branches can be found at www.americanexpress.hr and pbzcard.hr) and choose the amount they wish to load onto the card. A one-time issuance fee of 15 kuna is charged for the card. The card with loaded funds comes in a suitable decorative envelope and is ready for gifting and use at retail locations.

This pre-holiday gathering for media representatives was held at the wine bar Melkior, restaurant Baltazar, one of the best business restaurants according to the Gastrofeja 2012 selection, a competition by Poslovni dnevnik for the best business restaurant in Zagreb. After the presentation of the new product, the president of the Gastrofeja judging panel, renowned Croatian gastronomist and writer Veljko Barbieri, presented the menu prepared for this gathering by the head chef of Baltazar, Mladen Hutinec, and Veljko Barbieri. In his presentation, Barbieri particularly focused on cod, a traditional ingredient of the holiday table, sharing gastronomic advice and some recipes for preparing dishes with cod, while the wines paired with the prepared dishes were recommended by four-time Croatian champion sommelier Klaudio Jurčić.
