The Supervisory Board of Brodosplit today, in accordance with the Government’s proposal, dismissed the previous president of the Management Board of the Split shipyard Srđan Kovač, and appointed Vladimir Kessler as the president of the Management Board, and Antun Čagalj as a member of the Management Board, it was announced from Brodosplit.
The Government of the Republic of Croatia, as the current owner of Brodosplit d.d., is aware of the significant difficulties in the company’s operations – financial losses, illiquidity, long-term underemployment of the company’s production capacities, a large number of workers on standby, and significant delays in achieving the plans for the construction of contracted ships, the announcement states.
Considering this, as well as the need to meet the prerequisites for the successful completion of the privatization process of Brodosplit by the end of 2012, the Government made a decision at the meeting held on November 29 proposing to the Supervisory Board of Brodosplit to dismiss the previous president of the company’s Management Board Srđan Kovač and appoint a new Management Board of two members – Vladimir Kessler as president and Antun Čagalj as a member of the Management Board, it is recalled in the announcement of the Supervisory Board of Brodosplit.
