Linić to Merge Seven Small Banks by the End of April

Finance Minister Slavko Linić intends to carry out the merger of seven small banks by April next year.

These include Centar banka, Karlovačka banka, Navi, Croatia banka, Vabi, Jadranska, and Banca Kovanici, reports Večernji list.

The plan is to sign a contract with an independent auditor by mid-December, conduct a due diligence review by the end of February, create a plan, define the necessary additional capital for the merger and the source of capital, as well as the role of the state in the entire process.

The goal of the project is to create a medium-sized bank with a capital of around one billion kuna, which would need to be recapitalized with 366 to 583 million kuna.
