The indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange have slightly weakened again today, marking the third consecutive day, with trading characterized by weak investor interest in stocks.
Around 12:00 PM, the Crobex index was down 0.12 percent, at 1,757 points, while Crobex10 was down 0.23 percent, at 994 points. Regular trading amounted to 4.3 million kuna, which is approximately 5 million less than yesterday at this time. The highest turnover was achieved with government bonds, amounting to 1.76 million kuna.
“For the third consecutive day, the Crobex indices are gradually sliding down. However, there is increased trading in government bonds. Clearly, some kind of distribution is taking place,” says Siniša Gašparević, investment advisor in the Treasury and Investment Banking Sector of Splitsko-dalmatinska Bank.
He adds that the price of bonds has increased by 13 percent since the beginning of the year, and when interest is added, this results in a yield of approximately 19 percent since the beginning of the year.
“To awaken activity on the stock exchange, we need some major acquisition from abroad, as it used to be with Pliva or Ina. Until then, the dullness in the stock market may continue,” Gašparević notes.
Currently, the most liquid stock is HT, with a turnover of 368,000 kuna and a price drop of 0.44 percent, to 202 kuna.
Next is the stock of Dalekovod, with a turnover of 245,000 kuna. Its price has strengthened by 0.32 percent, to 72.45 kuna.
Most stock prices are recording only slight movements. Only after a significant price drop do the stocks of Dioki stand out, down by 8.74 percent, and Jadroplov, down by 6.26 percent.
