The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), based in Vienna, reported on Tuesday that information was stolen from one of the agency’s old servers and published on a hacker site, but appropriate measures have been taken to ensure the security of its computer system.
The IAEA, the agency investigating Iran’s nuclear activities, stated that the published information pertains to data revealing a call for an investigation into Israeli nuclear activities, a request that is often made to the agency by Iran and Arab states. It has not been disclosed who might be behind this action.
– The IAEA expresses deep regret over the publication of information stolen from our old server that has not been operational for a long time – said the agency’s spokesperson Gill Tudor, adding that appropriate measures have been taken to prevent future hacking of the agency’s websites and to protect confidential data.
