Today, the company More marked the beginning of the construction of a wood processing factory, producing solid boards and furniture in Kuštani, in the municipality of Sveti Ivan Žabno.
The investment is valued at 91.5 million kuna, secured by a loan from HBOR and the company’s own funds. The realization of the investment is planned over the next three years, with 50 workers to be employed in the spring of next year, and an additional 80 by the end of the investment.
This is one of the currently largest investments in the Croatian wood industry, as highlighted at the ceremony attended by Minister of Agriculture Tihomir Jakovina.
Emphasizing the significance of this investment and the creation of new jobs, Jakovina noted that the intention of the relevant ministry is to have a larger share of final products intended for export in the wood processing sector.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture has allocated around 62 million kuna this year for support in the wood processing sector. The total export of Croatian wood processors is 2.8 billion kuna, and they would like to see more final products than raw materials in that amount in the future. We are counting on greater opportunities with Croatia’s entry into the EU, said Minister Jakovina at the opening of the construction of the new factory with the most modern wood processing facility of the investor company More.
The owner and director of More d.o.o., Mario Janković, stated that in seven years of operation, they have grown into a respectable wood processing company, exporting 90 percent of their products to the European market, as well as to Egypt, China, and Taiwan.
