The ‘Adoption is Cool’ Campaign Held

This Saturday, the last campaign of the year ‘Adoption is Cool’ was held in Zagreb’s main square, organized by the City Office for Agriculture and Forestry of the City of Zagreb and the Shelter for Abandoned Animals of the City of Zagreb in Dumovec, with the support of Nestlé Purina.

The last campaign of the year ‘Adoption is Cool’ was exceptionally successful. The campaign was personally supported by fashion designer Juraj Zigman, the latest in a series of Croatian designers who created items to promote abandoned pets. As part of the campaign, in addition to Zigman’s t-shirts, fashion accessories from other collections for Dumovec were also on sale, including works by Elfs, Zoran Mrvoš, and Luka Grubišić. Once again, the funds raised from sales and donations were directed to the Dumovec shelter.

– Just this year, 642 abandoned pets arrived at the Dumovec shelter, of which we have adopted 575, which is more than 89 percent. The campaigns raised funds for the purchase of veterinary equipment and created better conditions for the animals housed in the shelter. Thanks to the purchased equipment, more than 2000 animals have been treated in the shelter this year – stated Tatjana Zajec, the shelter manager.

This year, Nestlé Purina donated more than 8 tons of pet food to shelters, of which more than 2.5 tons were donated to Dumovec – stated Tihana Bezmalinović from Nestlé Purina.
