PharmaS Launches Production at Pharmaceutical Factory in Zrenjanin

The pharmaceutical company PharmaS has commenced production at its newly opened pharmaceutical factory in Zrenjanin, located in the Bagljaš industrial zone. The factory includes a laboratory for drug quality testing, fully automated production, as well as storage, technical, and office space.

With the completion of the facility, which complies with EU pharmaceutical industry standards, PharmaS’s total investment in Serbia amounts to over 18 million euros.

– Following last year’s opening of the pharmaceutical factory in Popovača, PharmaS has made another significant step in business development and fulfilling its business strategy by launching production in an equally modern factory in Zrenjanin. PharmaS already represents a modern and flexible regional pharmaceutical company with a rich portfolio of drugs in five markets, and soon in a sixth – said Zdravka Knežević, CEO of PharmaS.

– Thanks to the new factory, the company’s overall capacities will be increased, allowing us for faster development both in the Serbian market and in the regional markets – said Radivoj Topalov, Director of PharmaS Serbia.

PharmaS will produce a wide range of generic drugs at the factory in Zrenjanin. So far, PharmaS has produced 7 drugs in the Serbian market, and in the first phase in Zrenjanin, PharmaS will produce 10 drugs, primarily from the cardiovascular, gastroenterological, neuropsychiatric, and musculoskeletal areas, while in the following period, the range of drugs will be expanded based on the needs for specific medications and the frequency of diseases treated with certain drugs.

The new factory will have a capacity of 30 million drug packages per year, which will provide the company with numerous opportunities to increase the production of drugs that will continue to be marketed in the Serbian market, while also increasing exports to regional countries accordingly. In the first phase, 30 highly skilled employees will work at the factory in Zrenjanin, and this number will increase in line with the company’s development. PharmaS is present in the regional countries – Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania.
