Finance Minister Slavko Linić stated yesterday that the Government will assist in addressing the issues of illiquidity and difficulties faced by companies through the Financial Operations and Pre-Bankruptcy Settlement Act, while citizens experiencing difficulties with loan repayments can be assisted with payment deferrals, but not with write-offs.
– The Government is prepared to tackle the issue of illiquidity. This is the reason we enacted the law on pre-bankruptcy settlements – Minister Linić responded to a question from HTV journalists about whether the Government plans to help those who cannot repay loans, both citizens and companies.
– The state will convert its claims, as well as bank claims, into equity or reduce or write them off. At the same time, we will try to find people who will enter new companies, secure additional funds, and thus resolve salaries and regular operations, as well as investments that we expect this time from the private sector – emphasized Linić.
The Finance Minister noted that they are also preparing solutions for the company Dalekovod, which this year received many guarantees from HBOR for work abroad.
When it comes to citizens, Linić conveys that only the basics remain – deferral of claims collection regardless of whether they are taxes or loans. ‘For people who at this moment either do not have a sufficient salary or are even without a salary, I can only help with deferrals. I do not believe that write-offs for citizens can exist,’ he emphasized.
