The Presidents of Italy Giorgio Napolitano, Germany Joachim Gauck, and Poland Bronislaw Komorowski expressed their confidence on Monday in Naples that Europe will emerge from the economic and financial crisis.
– We will overcome this difficult economic and financial crisis – they stated in a joint text published on the website of the Italian presidency after the summit at Villa Rosebery, the Italian president’s summer residence in Naples.
– At a time when so many look at Europe with disbelief and hesitation, when Europe does not seem capable of fulfilling its promises of a just society, when many fear for jobs, savings, and the future, we want to send an encouraging message – they write.
– Let us be aware of the preciousness of peace and freedom in which the countries of the European Union have lived for more than 60 years. The Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the European Union is an encouragement for us. Europe must rise to its responsibilities and act united in the world – they emphasize.
– Every generation must face challenges. We must face ours too! – concluded the presidents.
