In a transaction valued at one billion euros, the French brand Lacoste has been acquired by the Swiss company Maus Ferers.
The alleged reason for such a business decision, according to media reports, is family disagreements regarding the acquisition of the Lacoste company between the president of French Lacoste, Sophie Lacoste Dournel, and her father, Michael.
Lacoste had been family-owned for nearly 80 years, and with this transfer of shares, the family business has been closed. The company that acquired the aforementioned brand, Maus Ferers, has also been family-owned since 1902 and owns several well-known brands such as Gant, Manor, and Accardo, and now the Lacoste brand.
